The Senior Systems Administrator provides third line support for company infrastructure (including but not limited to Servers, Network, Cloud Platforms, Printers, Communications and Computer Equipment). Daily monitoring, operational management and troubleshooting of server systems, cloud platforms and networking equipment are also part of this function. The Senior IT Systems Administrator works with the Director, Enterprise Infrastructure to provide support for ongoing projects in the organization The role is focused on the US but spans across the global organization as the infrastructure is in multiple offices worldwide.
 
 
Essential Responsibilities
• Maintain and update infrastructure procedures and documentation.
• Communicates openly and transparently to GTS Team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations for the infrastructure team.
 • Informs and updates the Director, Enterprise Infrastructure on a regular basis about system status, maintenance and security.
• Works with the Director, Enterprise Infrastructure to deliver IT Projects by their set deadline.
• Investigates and reports any issues with IT Infrastructure to the Director, Enterprise Infrastructure.
• Works with the other System Administrators and the Director, Enterprise Infrastructure to monitor, maintain and secure IT Infrastructure.
 • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
• Attend meetings, seminars, and training sessions as required.
• Perform assigned duties according to the policies and expectations prescribed by the company.
• This role has no management or supervisory responsibilities.
• Technical Proficiency: Mastery of IT systems, networks, and infrastructure, including advanced knowledge of hardware, software, and cybersecurity.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues and provide innovative solutions.
• Project Management: Effective management of IT projects, including planning, execution, and timely completion.
 • Adaptability: Being able to quickly adapt to new technologies and changing IT environments.
• Leadership: Demonstrating leadership qualities, especially when supervising or mentoring junior IT staff.
• Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication with team members, end-users, and management to convey technical information and solutions.
• Time Management: Prioritizing tasks and efficiently managing IT resources to meet project deadlines and maintain system uptime.
• Problem Identification: Proactively identifying potential system vulnerabilities or performance issues and taking preventive measures.
• Security Awareness: Ensuring the security and integrity of IT systems and data through the implementation of security protocols and best practices.
• Documentation Skills: Maintaining thorough and organized documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
 
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Bachelors degree preferred 
  • 6 plus years of relevant systems administration experience
• Application/ program Experience: preferably focused on Microsoft Systems (Active Directory, Exchange, SQL).
 • Experience with Active Directory, Exchange Online and other Microsoft technologies
• Experience with Virtualization and Hypervisors like VMWare VCenter/ESXi or Hyper-V
• Experience monitoring and troubleshooting (Server) Operating Systems, Mail Systems and Network Equipment
• Experience with Single Sign On technology like OKTA, DUO
• Experience with Cloud technology like Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Workspace, a plus
• Experience with *nix operating systems, a plus
 
Work Conditions of the role are
• Work conditions may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements such as dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
• Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks which require following basic safety precautions.
• Must be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work within or visit areas where required. This includes, safety glasses, reflective vest, ear plugs, safety toed shoes, and other PPE as required by the location.
