Position Purpose: 
The Paralegal is responsible for assisting the global legal team on a wide range of legal matters involving contract, business and corporate issues. The Paralegal will play a key role in supporting the global legal team during all phases of the project and contract lifecycle. Success in this position requires an aptitude for multitasking, excellent communication skills, sound judgment and proficiency with technology. 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Update, organize and manage the contract management system to align with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records and files on internal databases.
  • Monitor and support contract compliance (i.e. key contract dates and timelines, deliverables (COIs, etc.).
  • Assist with the continued development of the company’s contract lifecycle management.
  • Assist with Contract formation (i.e. intake of Contract Requests (project, NDA, vendor)).
  • Prepare and review terms for standard templated contracts.
  • Analyse contracts to determine what, if any, permits, licenses, etc. TAIT needs to perform the work.
  • Advise on and support the process to obtain any needed commercial permits, licenses, etc.
  • Maintain commercial permits/licenses, as needed.
  • Escalate contract issues to attorneys as needed and support those attorneys through the negotiation process.
  • Report on contract status to key stakeholders.
  • Conduct internal and external research and resolve legal questions under the direction of in-house attorneys.
  • Perform assigned duties according to the policies and expectations prescribed by the Company.
  • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

  • Time Management: Prioritize tasks and manage multiple contracts efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • Problem-Solving: Find solutions to contractual disputes and issues that may arise during contract execution.
  • Business Acumen: Willingness to learn the business and understand how to identify business vs legal issues.
  • Compliance: Ensure that contracts adhere to all legal and regulatory requirements.
Experience and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business law or administration or a related field
  • Experience in a legal setting (production and/or live entertainment setting with commercial management and/or contract administration duties preferred).
  • Established contract management and administration skills.
  • Flexibility, adaptability and love of learning new skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong sense of accountability.
  • Highly developed attention to detail, organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to produce a consistent work product under pressure.
  • Highly developed sense of discretion and understanding of confidentiality.
  • Ability to work seamlessly in a proactive, independent manner and in a team environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and other document or contract management systems.
